Editing continues on JGB
I gave editor Jon King six more pages last week, 36 pages into the script, probably 40 minutes of the documentary. We continue to make progress.
Was in LA recently for a father/daughter trip and while there I went to a music club named Cozy's. Four musicians with ties to Johnnie performed that night. From the new Tonight Show band: guitarist Jimmy Vivino, bassist Mike Merritt, and drummer James Wurmworth rocked the house. All three toured and recorded with Johnnie. I had already interviewed Jimmy Vivino, so I said hello to him. Merritt and Wurmworth expressed interest in doing interviews for the documentary. Hope they can hook me up with Conan O'Brien, since Johnnie performed on Conan's Late Night show three times. The same night Johnny Rivers stopped with his guitar and sat in. Rivers was the first interview I did for JOHNNIE BE GOOD five plus years ago.
Also got to hang out with good friend and musician Dona Oxford who lives in LA. Dona was a close friend and protege of Johnnie, and did a wonderful job singing and arranging on a song we co-wrote.
